For more than four decades, Feed the Hungry San Miguel has worked to ensure that children have access to nutritious meals, clean drinking water, nutrition education, and opportunities to thrive. While much of our work takes place in schools and rural communities, another important part of our mission happens through partnerships with local nonprofit organizations that dedicate their lives to serving some of our community's most vulnerable residents.
Today, Feed the Hungry proudly collaborates with nine local organizations:
- Centro Infantil Los Ángeles
- Centro para Adolescentes de San Miguel de Allende (CASA)
- Apoyo a los Sanmiguelenses Ancianos (A.L.M.A.)
- Casa Hogar Mexiquito
- Casa Hogar Santa Julia
- So Others May Eat (SOME)
- Escuela de Educación Especial de San Miguel de Allende (EEESMA)
- Luz de Esperanza
- Ojalá Niños
Some of these relationships span more than twenty years. Casa Hogar Mexiquito, for example, has been a valued partner for decades, reflecting the long-standing commitment Feed the Hungry has made to supporting organizations that share our dedication to serving others.

"When organizations work together, donor generosity reaches further, helping build a stronger and more compassionate community for everyone" Enfóquese en lo que tiene que decir - Paola Juarez, President, Feed the Hungry A.C. |
While each organization has its own mission, identity, and population served, they all share a common goal: improving lives through compassion, care, and opportunity. Through these partnerships, Feed the Hungry provides weekly food support, nutritional guidance, training opportunities, and assistance with kitchen operations. Our Nutrition Team and Program Staff remain available to offer workshops, food safety training, cooking classes, and other educational activities that help strengthen the quality and sustainability of the services these organizations provide.
The collaboration goes beyond simply providing food. It is about building a stronger community network where organizations can learn from one another, share resources, and work together toward a common purpose. By supporting local nonprofits, Feed the Hungry helps extend the reach of donor contributions far beyond our own programs, multiplying the impact for children, adolescents, individuals with disabilities, and the elderly throughout San Miguel de Allende.
This year, Feed the Hungry is formalizing these relationships through updated Collaboration Agreements that recognize the important role each organization plays within our community. These agreements establish a framework for cooperation, transparency, and mutual support while preserving the independence and unique mission of every participating organization. The agreements also reaffirm a reality that has always been at the heart of our work: none of this is possible without the generosity of our donors. Every meal distributed, every workshop delivered, and every partnership maintained is made possible by individuals who believe that no one in our community should face hunger alone.
When donors support Feed the Hungry, they are not only helping the nearly 5,000 children we serve through our school meal programs. They are also helping strengthen a network of dedicated nonprofit organizations that provide hope, care, shelter, education, and nourishment to hundreds of additional community members every day.
Together, we are creating something greater than any one organization could accomplish alone: a stronger, healthier, and more compassionate San Miguel de Allende.
